Here we have a tutorial on resizing images for projection in a number of different applications
This is a work in progress so if you have instructions for any other applications not currently listed please send them to Don for inclusion in this tutorial.
Resizing Images Tutorial

Emailing images directly from Picasa
When you use the "email"  feature in Picasa it makes the images smaller automatically when it sends them to help your email go faster. The default settings is 480 pixels
Unfortunately this makes the images sent unusable for anything like printing or projecting.
To send pics large enough for printing or club competition entries you will need change the email settings in Picasa so that it won't automatically make the images too small.

1.  Start Picasa
2.  Go to the "Tools" menu and click on "Options"
3.  Click on the "Email" tab
4.  Go down to the "Output Options" section
5.  The first one is "When sending more than one picture, resize to"
Slide the bar along until it shows at least 1024
6.  The second one is "When sending single pictures, resize to"
Make sure "1024 pixels" or  "Original Size" is marked
7.  Click Apply and then OK

Technical Computer Issues:

Windows Vista Destroys Photo Metadata
A bit of bad news about Vista if you're a photographer. Apparently if you tag a photo's metadata in Vista, it destroys other important metadata used by image editing apps such as Photoshop. Microsoft's gotten reports of RAW files generated by Nikon cameras being unreadable after being tagged with Vista or Microsoft's Photo Info tool...
