Introduction to Photoshop & Elements Stage #1
A regular workshop taken by Don Campbell
A full day practical workshop introducing Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Elements
This workshop will get you started on photo manipulation and correction using all the standard photoshop tools including layers, resizing, cropping, clone tools, colour/brightness/contrast adjustments, montages, etc.
We will demo with CS3 and Elements 5 and 6 but 99.9% of what we will be doing will also be possible in Elements 5 or later and Photoshop 7 or later.
The intro session in particular is about concepts and general image manipulation work flow so almost all of what we will talk about can also be used in any other layer based graphics applications such as Photo Plus, Paintshop Pro and Elements etc. In the early morning part of the class we will go over things like resolution, resizing, print sizes, cropping and global colour/brightness/contrast corrections which even simple programs such as Picasa can perform.
Bring your own laptop and either of these applications to work with. We will also have demo versions of Photoshop and Elements along with several other graphics applications available so you can try them out on your own computer and see which one will be best for you.
